Galactic Civilizations 3 To Be Released Next Month

Turn-based sci-fi 4X Galactic Civilizations 3 is due to drop on PC on May 14th.

In Galactic Civilizations III you take the role of an authoritarian leader charged with ensuring their faction becomes the dominant force in the Galaxy. You can make decisions which favor taking your empire into cultural, trade, diplomatic, ideological, and military disputes with others. As with Civilization, victory in each game can be achieved in many ways. Making an empire culturally influential can stop your enemies in their tracks – as long as you keep their dropships from embarking on your worlds. This is best prevented by military defenses or diplomacy.

As with previous game GalCiv 2, Galactic Civilizations 3 is a sandbox strategy game with a great deal of variety in gameplay. Players have a set of tools for use. You can sign diplomatic treaties, or negotiate trade deals, before deciding to break them and invade your neighbor like the ruthless alien b*stard you are. Research can be done in any waGalactic_Civilizations_3_Drengin_Battleshipy you see fit. You can build your own starfleets and use them in Galactic Civilizations to your advantage. Along with features such as starbase construction, ideology, and the development of your planets, Galactic Civilizations 3 looks to be carrying on the huge amount of depth and variety of tactics that the series is known for.

This time around the series is seeing large improvements. Galactic Civilizations 3 will have a 64-bit engine, the visuals have seen an improvement, and the UI has been made a little bit less fiddly. As for mods, Galactic Civilizations 3 allows modders to do just about anything they can think of.

Multiplayer also makes its series debut with Galactic Civilizations 3, which will no doubt please the series’ fans. There’s even leaderboards for you competitive gamers out there.

You can purchase Galactic Civilizations III on Steam Early Access right now. Or, if you’d rather wait for the final release, the full game will cost you $49.99 when it goes on sale on May 14th.
