Gamescom 2014: ScreamRide coming to Xbox Spring 2015

Announced at yesterday’s Microsoft Gamescom press conference, a new game from Frontier Developments called ScreamRide is coming to Xbox in 2015. The game is set in a futuristic setting where you the player must build and customize your own rollercoaster, modeled similarly to Roller Coaster Tycoon, but with more action and personalization.

Virtually any part of these player built rollercoasters are destructible and it would seem there is a lot of room left for creative freedom in your own coaster builds allowing for the variations in custom built rides to be quite robust. These rollercoasters twist, turn, go upside down and even potentially fling you off the tracks into the surrounding buildings. Needless to say, when it comes to ScreamRide’s rollercoasters, standard laws of physics do not apply.

It is yet to be seen how far the variations in terms of customization goes, and how many features in the game the extent of its rollercoaster creation playground extends to, but based solely on the trailer alone, there is definitely room for creativity of the player and there’s little doubt that you won’t be able to share your creations of madness to your friends and exchange concepts and ideas.

ScreamRide is an Xbox exclusive coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The exact release date is yet to be announced, but it can be expected to drop sometime next Spring.
