Supernatural mystery game The Vanishing of Ethan Carter will be released next Wednesday, July 15th, for PlayStation 4. It’ll cost £13.94 in the UK to download from PSN – around $21 USD.
Developer The Astronauts has said that PS4 version isn’t a mere port of the PC version, but has instead been rebuilt from the ground up for Sony’s console i Unreal Engine 4. The Unreal Engine 4 version of the game will also be offered to people who already own the game on PC at some point in the near future.
The Vanishing f Ethan Carter was released last year to significant praise from gamers and the press. A supernatural mystery game, players take the role of Paul Prospero – a detective with special abilities – as he attempts to piece together the mystery surrounding the disappearance of a boy from a small town.
Jodie Rodgers loved The Astronauts’ suspense-filled adventure, awarding it 9/10. “The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a masterpiece in every aspect. Never before have I played a game which evoked such emotion upon looking at the surroundings,” Jodie wrote in her review. “The freedom given to you as the player is liberating and every individual element comes together to create a game experience that will stay with you for a long while after it’s complete.”
