What can we say about World of Speed, Slightly Mad Studios upcoming MMO arcade racer, that we haven’t already said? We know it’s being developed alongside the ludicrously pretty racing sim Project Cars, that it will include real-life locations such as San Francisco, and that it will work on an F2P model.
But we have no date for when the ex-Need for Speed: SHIFT studio plans to release the game, other than a vague 2014 release target for the PC. The London-based developer has also made mention of mission-oriented teamplay, with unique missions for each race. We look forward to hearing more about what that entails.
Anyway, they say that a picture’s worth a thousand words, so going by that metric these six screenshots speak oodles about how World of Speed is shaping up: cars seem to attract dirt and dinks as you play, and light sources look like they’re reflecting realistically. Have a look for yourself.
