Frictional games has announced that upcoming sci-fi survival-horror game SOMA will be released September 22nd for the PC and PS4.
The announcement came via a new gameplay trailer, which you can view below.
The gameplay in the trailer appears to be very similar to the Amnesia series, as it focuses more on interaction with the environment and avoiding monsters and enemies as opposed to facing them head-on like so many other survival-horror focus on.
The game takes place in PATHOS-2, an underwater research facility that has lost communications where “machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine,” according to the official website. This can be seen in the trailer, as the player interacts with a sentient machine that believes it is human.
A creepy new trailer and some fresh screenshots await you below, but you might want to ensure you have some clean underwear to hand before you watch the video.
You know, just in case.
