Play the first 6 hours of Dragon Age: Inquisition free on Xbox One this week

Have you played Bioware’s massive RPG, Dragon Age: Inquisition yet?

If not, and assuming you own an Xbox One, then you’re in luck this week. EA has announced that epic dragon-bashing game is available to play for 6 hours all through this week - provided you have Xbox Live Gold membership.

In addition, the full game is currently enjoying a hefty 40% discount on Xbox Live, so if you like what you play, you can grab it on the cheap.

6 hours for free is pretty sweet offer, though to be honest you might need it before really getting a good feel for Bioware’s latest - the game takes quite a while to get going, not even opening up properly until around a dozen hours in, which is around when you’ll gain access to your keep. Nevertheless, it’s one of the best games released on current-generation consoles (and PC) so far: we awarded it our coveted Game of the Year award in our second annual awards list this year.

Jodie Rodgers reviewed Dragon Age: Inquisition, awarding the game 9/10 for its combination of sprawling narrative, massive and detailed world, and satisfying combat. “Bioware has learned from their mistakes in Dragon Age 2, and created a compelling story with believable characters set in a gorgeous environment,” she wrote in her Dragon Age: Inquisition Review. “They’ve taken the best of both games and put them into one, which I am thankful to say has paid off.”
