Few characters can keep a dark secret as well as Persona 4′s unassuming junior detective Tohru Adachi. And now he’s been announced as a playable character in Arc System Works update to the Persona 4 fighting game spin-off, Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold. Or Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax, to normal people.
The selection of English screens below show the troubled detective commenting on the strangeness of his surroundings. On-screen text suggests his Persona will be Magatsu-Izanagi. This news comes after confirmation that Rise Kujikawa would would also be part of the games’ roster, which in turn prompted speculation that Persona 3’s Ken Amada might also make an appearance. It should be noted that the Arena series takes place in a separate story canon from Persona Q, which also has its own P3/4 cross-over scenario.
Adachi is a DLC addition, rather than part coming with the game. However, Atlus has confirmed that he will be available to download for free during the first week after launch in both North and South America. Currently there is no firm release date for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game: all we know is that it will becoming “this fall”.
