Deep Silver, the publisher of the critically acclaimed Metro franchise, has finally given us a release date for the much-awaited Metro Redux.
Redux will hit North America on August 26, and Europe three days later on the August 29.
Metro Redux is a remake of the entire Metro series, with Metro 2033 now running on the 4A engine which brought us the beautifully dark Metro: Last Light. While the facelift on 2033 is fairly obvious, it is not the only one being remastered; Last Light Redux will be running on the latest iteration of the 4A engine. Both games come with all previously released DLC. In addition, both games can be played in two ways - the more survival-focused style of Metro: 2033 can be applied to Last Light, while Last Light’s more traditional FPS gameplay can be applied to 2033.
The console versions of Redux will contain the remastered versions of both 2033 and Last Light. The digital download editions of 2033 and Last Light will be sold separately, and are already available for pre-purchase on Steam - both individually or as a bundle.
