Gamescom 2014: Michel Ancel Reveals Wild

Wild_Announced

Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil creator Michel Ancel today revealed the trailer for his new IP, Wild and confirmed the game as an exclusive for the PlayStation 4.

Wild is a game Ancel has developed with his new indie studio, Wild Sheep Studios. The trailer, which you can watch below, showcased it as an open-world game set in a natural landscape which promises to be as big as Europe. Players will be able to take on the role of almost any creature in the game, including humans, sheep, hawks, boars, sharks and more. You’ll even be able to take on the form of fantastical beings, like creepy skeletons, strange ape-like creatures and a giant-horned, humanoid goddess.

Little has been revealed about the actual gameplay, but it is thought that you’ll be able to take on the forms of these different creatures in-game in order to tackle new missions and explore new areas. Ancel said during his stage-time, “We wanted to make a very specific type of game. Our concept is based on experiencing new situations each time you play.”

Wild doesn’t currently have a release date, but it is expected to land some time in 2015.
