Halo 3: ODST is being thrown into the Halo: The Master Chief Collection mix for free for anyone who has played the collection since its launch on the 11th November up until the 19th December this spring, as a way to say sorry for how troubled the launch has been. To tease its imminent release, Microsoft has released the first ever image of the remastered Xbox One version of Halo 3: ODST.
Halo 3: ODST, originally created by Bungie back in 2009 as a bridge between Halo 3 and Halo: Reach, is set to be upgraded to 1080p resolution and will run at 60 frames per second on Xbox One. You can take a look at the fancy new screenshot below:
Dale retrospectively reviewed Halo 3: ODST last year and gave it an impressive 8/10 saying that, “it’s not as drastic a departure from the series formula as Halo Wars or Spartan Assault, but ODST brings something else beyond simply being yet another tale of humans vs. aliens. Simply put, it brings soul.”
In other news, a new content update for the game is expected to drop in April according to 343 chief, Dan Ayoub, who said the following in a post on Xbox Wire: “We have an ongoing commitment to our fans to make this experience the best it can be. We want fans playing and enjoying this collection for years, and you’ll continue to see improvements to the experience in the coming months to support that goal.”
