Square Enix has released the updated version of their classic hit RPG Final Fantasy III on Steam.
While originally only released in Japan for the SNES back in 1990, the game was updated and release for the Nintendo 3DS back in 2007, featuring new graphics, story elements, and an updated job system. The new Steam release sees the publisher boasting many graphical enhancements over the original handheld release.
Final Fantasy III is available today for purchase for $15.99, £10.99, or €12.99; the Steam release also now includes Achievements and Steam Trading Cards. Square has also announced that improvements have been made to the user interface, to ease the speed of navigating between menus and the lengthy bestiary.
Final Fantasy III was the first in the series to sell over 1 million copies, and the re-release on the 3DS sold another million copies, making the game a hit on Nintendo’s handheld. Here’s the trailer for new and old fans alike to enjoy.
