UPDATE: A representative for Square Enix has responded to our request for a comment.
“We are looking into this matter and have no comment at this time”, the representative told Continue Play.
ORIGINAL STORY: After having been released on PlayStation 3 and Vita earlier this year, it seems that the HD remaster of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 will be arriving on PS4.
The news comes thanks to an accidental listing on the official French online store for Square Enix. An eagle-eyed user on NEOGAF forums spotted the listing, and quickly took a screenshot, which you can see below. Square Enix hastily took down the store page, but it could be found via google cache for some time afterwards, complete with hi-res box art for the game, along with a price in Euros - €49.99.
A release date of Printemps 2015 is shown on the listing. “Printemps” is French for “Spring”, so we shouldn’t have long to wait. Square Enix has yet to comment on the listing.
Shehzaan Abdulla reviewed Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster on the Vita back in February this year (based on the Japanese import version), scoring it 6/10. He was more favorable to Final Fantasy X HD, however, which received a “great” score of 8/10. Overall, he found the remaster impressive, though feeling slightly rushed - with inconsistent graphic quality and framerate issues.
