“Fans” Start Petition To Cancel Metroid Prime: Federation Force

Fans Start a Petition to Cancel Metroid Prime Federation Force

Having been announced through the Nintendo Treehouse E3 presentation, it would appear “fans” have already taken up a petition for the cancellation of Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is an upcoming cooperative multiplayer title scheduled for release on the 3DS. Despite being a spin-off, many have expressed their strong disapproval of the game - with some criticizing the games presentation and most sharing their general disappointment.

On popular petition site change.org, Gilbert Manzanarez started a petition in protest of the 3DS game. Within the description, Manzanarez brings up a little about the core foundations of what made the Metroid games so great, and his criticism towards Nintendo in not making use out of the Wii U hardware.

“With the release of the Wii U and its greater technological capabilities, thousands of fans were expecting a new and improved Metroid game,” the petition reads. “What we got however is a disgrace of a game with the name Metroid slapped on the title. It has no elements at all of what Metroid is about and it’s a disrespectful manner to old and new fans of the series of showing them that the Metroid franchise is not dead afterall.”

The petition now currently sits with 12,327 supporters, with the official trailer coming close to 50,000 dislikes at this point of time. Metroid Prime: Federation Force is expected to launch later in 2016.

What are your thoughts on the game? Do you think Federation Force is as bad as everyone else is making it out to be? Or do you think that people should just reserve judgement until the game is released? Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments, and check out the announcement trailer below.
