New Shin Megami Tensei Game Teased

Atlus teases a sequel with new Twitter campaign

Atlus has teased the reveal of a new game in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise.

Over the weekend, the Japanese website for Shin Megami Tensei IV was updated to show the image of a stone wall, accompanied by some text which apparently promises that something will happen after reaching 15,000 tweets.

Of course, this could mean anything - a re-release, DLC, or some kind of media project. But, a representative for Atlus recently promised that the publisher would be announcing a new game soon - so fans will no doubt be hoping that this latest change is the start of a run-up to an official reveal.

Here’s an official tweet from Atlus’ Japanese wing regarding the news:

Shin Megami Tensei has a pretty dedicated fanbase, so I doubt it will be long before we find out just what Atlus has up its sleeve.

The last game in the series, Shin Megami Tensei IV, came out back in 2013 on 3DS in Japan, eventually making its way over to North America and Europe. It was pretty well received too, sitting on an agregated rating of 83 on Metacritic.
