The next character reveal for Capcom’s Street Fighter V has been leaked ahead of schedule, courtesy of Famitsu.
Laura is a Brazilian fighter with an affinity for electricity. It looks as though she’s standing in for series stalwart Blanka, though judging by the photos shown in the latest issue of Famitsu, Laura looks as though she fights using a blend of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Capoeira. Famitsu has since pulled the images, but not before a number of people spotted them and circulated them via Reddit. The leak comes hot on the heels of the official announcement that Zangief will feature in the fighting game sequel.
A distraught Yoshinori Ono took to Twitter to express his upset over the leak. It looks as though Ono was planning on officially announcing Laura during his upcoming visit to Brazil this week.
I have been stabbed from behind..However I'm thinking about working hard on @EGSmexico @BrasilGameShow NY comic-con.Plz get out of my way…

Whether or not Laura is actually connected to Blanka in some way isn’t known, though it seems likely. She’s the third new character to be revealed for the game so far, alongside Rashid and Necalli. Capcom has previously said that Street Fighter V will feature 4 new fighters, so there’s one more new challenger yet to enter the ring.
Street Fighter V is currently slated for a release on PC and PS4 sometime in Sprin 2016. Take a look at the leaked screenshots of Laura below.
