In case you hadn’t realized, we’re now just one month away from Microsoft’s biggest release of the year: Halo 5 Guardians.
Despite being so close to release, there’s still an awful lot we don’t know about 343 Industries’ latest venture with the Master Chief. What is known, however, sounds promising - and has been designed specifically to soothe the fears of people who disliked the radical departures made by Halo 4‘s multiplayer, and the disastrous launch of last year’s Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
In Halo 5, Master Chief is a fugitive being pursued by Spartan Locke and a crack team of new Spartans who are under orders to take him down. But Master Chief has assembled his own squad: Blue Team. We don’t really know an awful lot more than that when it comes to the campaign’s story, but Halo 5 will continue the story threads set up in its predecessor. So, expect the Prometheans to return, plenty of Covenant to kill, and to find out whether Cortana is truly gone for good.
You can check out the latest trailer for Halo 5 Guardians below, introducing Master Chief’s Blue Team as they assault a Covenant cruiser. They certainly know how to make an entrance.
Halo 5 will be released October 27, 2015, exclusively on Xbox One.
