Star Wars: Uprising Out Now On Mobile Devices

New mobile RPG bridges the gap between the original films and The Force Awakens

Star Wars: Uprising, a new free-to-play RPG for mobile set between the events of Return of the Jedi and the upcoming The Force Awakens, is now available.

Uprising introduces a new part of the Star Wars universe, the Anoat Sector, where players will be able to team up with smugglers, freedom fighters, bounty hunters, and gangsters to fight against the empire as it tries to take over the galaxy. The Anoat sector has been previously mentioned (very briefly) in prior Star Wars material, but this is the first time that it’s been used as an actual setting.

In Uprising you’ll create your own unique character, with a unique skill-set and assortment of gear, before joining other players in sector-wide battles. The outcome of these battles will dictate future expansion content such as new planets and quest lines.

Uprising was developed by San Francisco-based Kabam RPG Studio. It’s a studio with some high-profile Star Wars alumni among its staff, too: Daniel Erickson is the former creative director of Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Danny Keller was nominated for an Emmy award for his work on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Star Wars: Uprising introduces players to a whole new Star Wars storyline in a deeply immersive RPG experience,” said Aaron Loeb, Senior Vice President of Kabam. “The community will be excited for massive sector battles that will shape the game’s future. It’s an amazing design that has a lot of surprises in store.”

Star Wars: Uprising is free-to-play, and available now on the iOS app store and Google Play. You can check out the (rather cool) launch trailer below.
