Splatoon Teams Up With Transformers In New Splatfest

Transform and ink up!

Nintendo’s third-person shooter smash-hit Splatoon will soon be getting a visit from Autobots and Decepticons, in a Transformers-themed Splatfest.

Starting on August 28 and running for 24 hours, all Wii U owners with a copy of Splatoon and an internet connection will be able to choose their allegiance and fight for their side in a special Splatfest sponsored by Hasbro.

Splatfests are special events that run for a limited amount of time, giving players the opportunity to pick their desired side. Their in-game characters get to wear a special T-shirt that shows which team has their allegiance and the ink that each team shoots will also be customized to match the color scheme of the chosen side. Previous Splatfests have featured Cats vs Dogs, Roller Coasters vs Water Slides and Marshmallows vs Hot Dogs.

This time players will get to pick between Optimus Prime’s Autobots or Megatron’s villainous Decepticons. Once a side has been picked, players head into battle and try to rack up Turf War wins for their side. You’ll want to pick your side carefully though as the side that gets the most Turf War wins will be awarded more Super Sea Snails, which you can use to upgrade your gear.
