Just Cause 3 developer Avalanche Studios has released a new interactive trailer for Mad Max showcasing the many ways that players can complete missions.

The first decision you’re faced with in the “Choose Your Path” trailer comes when Max squares up to an enemy convoy. Do you go in heavy, loud or (in classic Max fashion) mad? It’s clear that Avalanche Studios want you to feel like the decision is yours in how you deal with the chaos you face at every opportunity. This isn’t exactly surprising - Just Cause is arguably best known for offering up multiple ways to cause chaos in its sandbox worlds, and Avalanche released a similar interactive trailer for its third installment recently.

During the trailer you encounter enemy bases where you could snipe the watchtowers or just blast your way through. Up close, combat looks particularly brutal, with Max using bombs and machetes to get the job done. When it comes to vehicular combat, your sidekick Chumbucket can mod your car with flame throwers or electrical weapons to murder the raiders around you. He’ll also attempt to mend your car as it’s damaged and shoot at your enemies with an assortment of weapons.

The Mad Max video game takes place before the recently-released Fury Road movie, and is set in a vast open world recreation of the films’ iconic post-apocalyptic Australian wasteland. After Max’s vehicle, the V8 Intercepter, is stolen by marauders Max (that’s you) stops at nothing to get it back. Along the way he meets Chumbucket who helps him in his pursuit and becomes something akin to a sidekick while you play.

Mad Max will be released on September 1st on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and PC. Check out the trailer below.
