Wonderfully charming metroidvania Ori and the Blind Forest is to receive an expansion, Larry “Major Nelson” Hrybb has confirmed (via Twitter).
There’s no news yet on what we can expect when the expansion hits, but it’s due out later this year on Xbox One and PC. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we get more information.
Moon Studios’ delightful debut title was released in back in March this year on Xbox One and PC after over half a decade in development. Designed as a “love letter” to games like Raymand and Super Metroid, the game features gorgeous hand-drawn graphics in a lush 2d open world. Playing as Ori, a small guardian spirit, its your job to restore a forest after a cataclysmic event leaves without the food and natural balance it needs to thrive.
Yours truly reviewed Ori and the Blind Forest, awarding it a well-deserved 9/10 score. “Ori and the Blind Forest invites you into its fantasy world, and is determined to keep you there – and by the time you’re finished, you won’t want to leave. What better reccommendation can there be than that?”, I wrote in my Ori and the Blind Forest review.
