Ubisoft has shown off a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate at gamescom, showcasing the game’s twin protagonists.
Brother and sister duo Evie and Jacob Frye will both be playable in the upcoming series installment. You will be able to switch between both characters at will, and each will have their own unique play style. While Jacob favors getting up close and personal with enemies, Evie prefers a more stealthy approach.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set in London during the Victorian era. As always, those pesky Templars have managed to gain a stranglehold over the city and it’s the Frye twins’ job to liberate it. The game world is said to be around 30% larger than the city of Paris in last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity, while multiplayer is absent this time around.
You might be forgiven for worrying that the increased scale will bring a new opportunities for game-breaking bugs. Unity was notoriously buggy at launch, a sorry state of affairs which led to publisher Ubisoft issuing an apology to fans and cancelling the game’s Season Pass. Ubisoft has promised that Syndicate will be up to scratch at launch, and is well aware of the damage done to the series’ reputation last year.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is due to launch October 23 on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release following in Q1 2016.
