Pillars of Eternity First Expansion Detailed

Pillars of Eternity First Expansion Detailed

The first expansion for Pillars of Eternity, titled The White March Part I, has been detailed.

The White March Part I is set to add additional character levels, spells, talents, areas, items, and companions to Pillars of Eternity. If you’re as in love with Pillars of Eternity as I am (I gave it a 10/10 in my Pillars of Eternity review), then this will be very exciting news for you.

Not too many details have been given away as of yet, however, the new character companions have been described in some detail - they’re called Zahua and The Devil of Caroc.

Zahua belongs to the agrarian people called the Tacan who come from the Ixamitl Plains. He’s a monk who belongs to the Nalpazca, a strict order of warrior monks who make up the Tacan armies. The Nalpazca believe in differentiating between the material world and the imagined world of feelings, perceptions and false structures. They see the latter as limiting a person’s transcendence, going to extreme measures to ensure that they “see more clearly”. Zahua is the greatest living practitioner of Nalpazca beliefs, believing that suffering is the path to enlightenment.

The Devil of Caroc is a bronze golem that’s inhabited by the soul of a convicted murderer (and is a rogue). She’s absolutely ruthless and relentless in her actions. The Devil was once a trapper in Cold Morn, a village that was known for treachery and cowardice throughout Dyrwood. The purges that swept the country started in Cold Morn - this led to everyone the Devil knew being killed by an angry mob who burned the village to the ground. The Devil survived and vowed to take revenge on those who destroyed her life.

The White March Part I will also include several updates to the game (available to all players, not just expansion owners). For more information, take a gander at the video below.
