Sonic Runners will be released for mobile devices worldwide from this Thursday, 25th June, Sega has announced. Runners was previously only available in Japan, where it launched back in February of this year.
As you may have guessed from the title, Sonic Runners will join the growing pile of free-to-play endless runner games on the iOS and Android app stores. You’ll be able to play as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles as you travel through endless randomly-generated sidescrolling levels collecting rings and gems. Visually, it looks like a slightly more modern take on the classic 16-bit games, with the familiar loop-the-loops and bright blue skies.
