Windows 10 Set For July Launch

Microsoft is set to launch its new operating system, Windows 10, on the 29th of July.

All Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free (which is always nice). If you own any of these operating systems then you’ll soon see a small windows icon in your toolbar, clicking on which will allow you to reserve your upgrade. After you do this, you’ll be notified on the 29th of July that you can install it, or schedule a time for it to install.

Windows 10 will come with Cortana (the Master Chief’s friend, turned digital slave) and will introduce Microsoft’s Internet Explorer replacement, Windows Edge. Much of the Xbox One interface will also be accessible on the Windows 10 Xbox app, allowing you to interact with friends, watch captured videos and more.

And if all this wasn’t enough, Candy Crush Saga will come pre-installed for free.

Take a gander at the trailer below, as Microsoft explain how they fixed everything from Windows 8 (and forgot about Windows 9 apparently).
