Audiosurf 2, the game that lets you “ride” your music through space on a futuristic neon highway, has finally come out of Steam early access.
Audiosurf 2 is the sequel to the original Audiosurf and brings in new game modes and skins (not forgetting the hundreds of skins on Steam Workshop). As well as these new features, in the words of the developer himself, the “UI is good now”.
The game procedurally generates levels based on the music on your hard drive, much like the original. Sadly, it isn’t compatible with Spotify. However, you can play in levels that are streamed from SoundCloud, including Songs of the Day.
Audiosurf 2 will also include other improvements, such as leaderboards, better visuals and “additional layers of strategy tied to the song’s biggest moments.”
Coinciding with the official launch of the game, a demo has been released. This will allow you to play three songs of your choice, after which you’ll be restricted to the Song of the Day.
Audiosurf 2 is now available on Steam for $12.74/£10.19 for Windows PC, Mac and Linux.
