Big news for Bloodborne fans with confirmation of an expansion currently confirmed to be in development.
President of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida took Twitter today with the following Twitter tease below. No other details were shared, other than the fact that more info will be revealed “later this year”.
So I have been asked by many people if we are making DLC for Bloodborne. I can say… An expansion is coming. More info later this year. 😀

It’s not the first time that a Miyazaki game has received an expansion, of course. Although Demons’ Souls didn’t sell well enough to warrant one, Dark Souls received the excellent Artorias of the Abyss add-on, and Dark Souls 2 received a trilogy of smaller expansions with the Lost Crowns saga.
Bloodborne has enjoyed incredibly strong sales since its launch back in March of this year. By the end of April, FROM Software’s Lovecraftian action-RPG had managed to accrue sales of over 1 million copies.
Brian Kale reviewed Bloodborne when it was released, presenting the game a solid 10/10. “If you’ve been waiting for a reason to justify your purchase of a PlayStation 4 but have been let down so far with the system’s exclusives, then Bloodborne is the game which could well redeem Sony’s latest console in your eyes,” he wrote. “From Software has made its distinctive brand of gaming more accessible to new players without sacrificing the integrity of their design philosophy.”
