Civilization Beyond Earth’s first expansion, Rising Tide, has been revealed.
This expansion, which is being developed by Civilization creator Firaxis, will retail at $29.99/£19.99 and is being released on PC this Autumn.
Rising Tide will let you build floating settlements and access the natural resources found deep beneath the seas of the alien planet. Having aquatic gameplay increases the options for players, while at the same time introduces new alien creatures with unique abilities.
The diplomacy system will also be overhauled, giving you many more options and choices. You’ll also be able to invest in multiple Affinities, allowing you to unlock hybrid Affinity units and upgrades for the first time.
There will be four new factions to play as, including the Al Falah, nomadic explorers who descend from wealthy and resilient middle-eastern states.
Civilization Beyond Earth launched in November 2014 and received mixed to positive reviews. It also marked a rare change for the series, having players colonize an alien planet, rather than being set on Earth.
