Schrödinger’s Cat and the Raiders of the Lost Quark has gone on sale today on Xbox One and PS4, priced at $9.99/ £7.39/ €8.99 - though oddly Xbox One gamers in the UK get it for the slightly cheaper price of £7.19. The platform-puzzler was previously released last September for Windows, Mac and Linux via Steam, where it received mixed reviews from critics but seems to have proven popular among gamers.
Developed by indie outfit Italic Pig and published by Worms publisher Team 17, Schrödinger’s Cat is described as being “part combat-platformer, part logic-puzzler, part open-world explorer, part character-driven adventure,” and features colorful 2D graphics along with plenty of surreal humor.
Italic Pigs’ first major release is set in a Particle Zoo where a disaster has broken open all the enclosures, releasing all the primitive particles inside. Schrödinger’s Cat is called in to deal with the situation and quell the turmoil at the zoo. Accompanied by a team of quarks that you’ll collect as you play, you’ll be able to combine the quarks to create and utilize 14 different abilities. Use the quarks to create a bomb, a helicopter or a net to help you navigate your way through 30+ levels as you try to collect the particles and herd them back into their cages.
