Naughty Dog has now officially announced that The Last of Us expansion, Left Behind, will now be made available as a standalone download on the PlayStation store as of May 12th.
In this expansion, which acts as a prequel to The Last of Us, you’ll be playing as Ellie as she and her best friend Riley sneak out of boarding school to visit an abandoned mall. If you’ve never played The Last of Us (you should, it’s fantastic) then this is a great way to experience the world and characters without having to jump in and buy the full game straight away.
In our review of the remastered edition of The Last of Us, Nic gave it an 8/10, simply because it’s more or less the exact same game, just with better graphics. However, don’t let this dissuade you. I was actually one of the rare few who missed The Last of Us on the PS3, and jumped straight in on the remastered edition on the PS4. Either console is a great way to experience this masterpiece of gaming.
If you want to jump into this franchise via the standalone expansion Left Behind, it will be available on the PS3 and PS4 from May 12th for £7.99/$9.99.
