New Halo: The Master Chief Collection Update Is 1.6Gb

Bungie continues to make further matchmaking improvements

343 Industries has just released another huge update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Coming in at a hefty 1.6Gb download, the update focuses on a number of ranking-based issues, including improvements on ranking consistency and ranks to appear correctly for players. As well as this, issues surrounding players being ranked down multiple levels is said to have been resolved.

Following the update, new quit and betrayal penalties have been issued. In ranked matches, quitting will now be penalized as a loss for online players, and further quits and betrayals will now be tracked automatically to target any repeat offenders.

Party matches have also seen improvement, with voice chat consistency and roster populating speed fixed as well. Further technical changes can be read on Halo Waypoint’s community update, including more information in regards to each individual game within the collection.

Next month’s content update is said to also come with the long-awaited addition of Halo 3: ODST‘s campaign. Alongside that, the Relic multiplayer map remake will be included. In the meantime, 343 has released these several screenshots showcasing whats to be expected in the next big update when the remastered version of ODST hits..
