Borderlands Creator Leaves Gearbox Software

Co-Creator and Director of the Borderlands franchise Matthew Armstrong, has confirmed that he’s now departed from Gearbox Software.

Armstrong who is also known for the games writer and game designer, took to twitter recently in saying;

The news comes as further shock from Gearbox Software, following the recent news publisher 2K Games that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel developer 2K Australia is closing down. The developer of the most recent Borderlands game confirmed with Kotaku Australia that the company is expected for closure earlier last week, with staff members expected to be offered “reassignment opportunities”. Hopefully the reports don’t mean that work on the next game in the series is in trouble.

Whether or not the staff affected and Armstrong were involved in development of Borderlands 3, we wish them all the best down here at Continue Play.
