Rhythm-based roguelike Crypt of the Necrodancer has been available on Steam Early Access for quite some time now, having appeared on Early Access in July 2014, but is now breaking free and dancing victoriously toward a full release.
With the full release comes a new character that dials the difficulty up even higher, a new zone full, a unique final boss for various main character, ending cinematics, and a new trainer NPC in the lobby for advanced techniques. All of these in addition to the usual bugfixes, tweaks, and updates that come with a patch.
Crypt of the Necrodancer is being released in full on Steam on April 23, 2015.
Roguelikes are a well-mined genre at this point, but Crypt of the Necrodancer‘s music-based system does a great deal to keep the decisions fast, demanding, and challenging for what is otherwise a very familiar, basic formula. We’ll have our review later this week.
