Hearthstone Now Available On iPhone And Android Phones

Hearthstone Launches On Android Phone and iPhone

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has finally reached smartphones devices, with the release of the iPhone and Android versions having been released yesterday evening.

With a brand new interface crafted for smaller screens, the smartphone versions provide a new platform for Hearthstone to be played. Players who have played either the PC or iPad versions can still access to their Blizzard accounts and card collections.

In celebration of the release, any player who is able to complete one game in any mode will receive one free Classic card pack from the original Hearthstone set.

Users will require at least an minimum iPhone 4S or 5th generation iPod to download it from the App Store. Android users will require a minimum 4.0 device to download it on Google Play.

Hearthstone is a free-to-play digital card series created by Blizzard Entertainment and featuring popular characters from the Warcraft universe. Players can take part in one-versus-one card battles between AI opponents or real life players. As players progress, they can craft and unlock new cards either through completing matches or purchasing sets through booster packs.

Following the press release, CEO and Cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime welcomed mobile gamers to Hearthstone. “Hearthstone’s quick, super-accessible gameplay is perfect for gaming on the go, and with the mobile versions it’s incredibly easy to jump into a match and have some fun” says Morhaime.

Previous expansions including Goblins and Gnomes, Cures of Naxxramas and the newly released Blackrock Mountain is also said to be included within the mobile versions. In Blackrock Mountain, the new expansion adds an additional board to the game, as well as 17 new bosses and 31 new cards. Further details can be found here.

Dale reviewed Hearthstone on PC and iPad shortly after launch, awarding it a magical 10/10 score. “Hearthstone may see Blizzard aiming at a more casual market, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth your time,” he wrote in his Heartstone review. “This is an utterly fantastic game that exudes polish from every digital pore. If you love card games, love Warcraft, or just love games in general, you owe it to yourself to play Hearthstone.”
