Resident Evil Revelations 2 Coming To PS Vita This Summer.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 coming to PS Vita later this Summer.

There hasn’t been much chatter about Resident Evil Revelations 2 on the PS Vita. Many might have dismissed it from ever heading to the handheld, such was the lack of updates on it. But Sony has now confirmed that Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be released digitally on on its handheld later this Summer.

Director of third party production at Sony Computer Entertainment America, Gio Corsi, confirmed the news in an update posted on the official PlayStation blog. Corsi said that as the last episode of Revelations 2 was just released on PlayStation 3 and 4, it only now has all the code required to make a PS Vita version possible. “The incredibly passionate team at Frima Studio is knee-deep in production of this title for our favourite little handheld,” he stated.

Corsi didn’t give a solid release date, but promised that the Vita version is “coming digitally this summer.” Fans will receive a firm release date as the team get closer to finishing the Vita port.

No mention was made of a physical release.

All four episodes of Resident Evil 2 Revelations will make the transition intact, along with all previously-released DLC (except consumable items). Later on online co-op, Raid Mode and ad-hoc modes will be added via an update, though again Corsi didn’t say when this would arrive.

Nic Bunce wrote our Resident Evil Revelations 2 review, awarding Capcom’s latest dollop of survival horror a respectable 7/10 and saying that it’s more enjoyable if you “think of it as the Shaun of The Dead of the Resident Evil franchise in terms of scare-to-laugh ratios.”

Resident Evil Revelations 2 may not look amazing, but it plays pretty well, while displaying plenty of self-aware humor – and that’s pretty impressive for what it is,” he concluded.
