New information about the upcoming racing game by Turn 10 Studios has been revealed by Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft’s marketing team leader for 1st and 3rd party games.
During a podcast with rising community members TiC Podcast (Also known as The Inner Circle), Aaron revealed that Forza Motorsport 6 will be landing in stores for the busy holiday season this year. A specific release date wasn’t given, but it was also announced that gamers will get their first look at Forza Motorsport 6 in the form of a worldwide gameplay reveal video when this year’s E3 event takes place in June.
If promises from Microsoft are to be believed, we can expect to see a lot of additions to the Xbox One lineup announced. Already announced for this year are Halo 5 Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fable Legends and Quantum Break, but of course E3 traditionally sees platform holders and publishers pulling out all the stops to trump one another - so we can expect the Redmond giant to have a few surprises up its sleeve.
Forza Motorsport 6 will mark the 10th anniversary of the series and will feature Ford muscle cars such as the Ford GT, F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350 Mustang, and more. Forza 6 will be the third game in the franchise to release on Xbox One: Forza 5 was a launch title, while last year the second entry in the more arcade-y Forza Horizon graced gamer’s disc drives. This will mean that so far Microsoft is on course to provide a new Forza game on Xbox One every year - something which hopefully doesn’t end up affecting the high quality bar the series is known for.
