Rosebud Games announces House of Caravan

Indie developer Rosebud Games and announced House of Caravan, a new horror game which layers on spooky happenings and puzzling to the kind of “explore the house” gameplay seen in Gone Home.

In House of Caravan, you play as Lester Barnard, who awakes in the titular house with no knowledge of how he got there, aside from a vague memory of being kidnapped. As Lester you’ll explore your new-found prison, solving puzzles and uncovering evidence as you start to piece together the true history of both the mansion and the family who once inhabited it, as well the story of the fictional town of Candlewood.

The mansion is rendered in 3D with some nifty lighting effects, and apparently is full of secrets and hidden areas to explore, with a “couple of hours’ worth” of narrative digging. It’s due out this Spring for PC, Mac and Linux and is due to be priced at $6.99 (about a fiver, for those of us in old Blighty). You can check out the first trailer and some screenshots below, and we hope to have more from the developers themselves soon.
