Discussions on Blizzard’s World of Warcraft forums are popping up all over the place about a special gift that the MMO giant is reportedly sending gifts to the game’s loyal 10-year veterans.
User Smitti posted photos of his gift - a gorgeous Orc statue. He also included a photograph of the inscription on the base, which reads:
The Orc statue is a constant presence in our life at Blizzard Entertainment. It’s where we meet to talk, to eat, to celebrate. As we celebrate ten years of World of Warcraft, we present this token of appreciation to you, stalwart adventurer. Thank you for being a constant presence in our lives as we adventure together.
The statue in question is an incredibly detailed replica of the one outside Blizzard headquarters:
There are other topics existing on the official forums, all dedicated to trying to figure out exactly what qualifies someone to receive the statue. The most likely scenario is a user who purchased and played World of Warcraft within the first 30 days of the game’s original launch back in 2004/5, and possibly who has continuously played through all the expansions to date.
We don’t know for sure, though, since Blizzard has remained oddly silent on the subject. There was no gift announcement, and there’s currently no information on the World of Warcraft website.
It’s a pretty kick-ass statue, though.
