Halo: Spartan Strike delayed to 2015

Developer 343 Industries has delayed the release of Halo: Spartan Strike to “early next year.”

The announcement was made in an update on Halo Waypoint. The top-down spin-off - a follow-up to last year’s Spartan Assault - was originally due to be released on December 12, but has been put back following ongoing issues with Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s online multiplayer. 343 says that resolving the issues with The Master Chief Collection is currently its top priority.

When it finally does appear, Spartan Strike will be released on Windows Phone 8, Windows 8 and Steam, though it seems likely that it will also eventually appear on Xbox One. A top-down, twin-stick shooter, Spartan Strike is set during the events of Halo 2. In a continuity-bending move, the Prometheans from Halo 4 will feature among the game’s roster of enemies.

Take a look at the game in action in the footage below.

Are you looking forward to Spartan Strike? Or are you more concerned about the problems plaguing The Master Chief Collection? Let us know.
