After yesterday’s leak, Street Fighter V has officially been announced for PC and PlayStation 4 at this weekend’s PlayStation Experience event.
The trailer is now available online after being pulled yesterday. It focuses greatly on the community that’s made up from fans of the franchise, with fan-art, character cosplays and gameplay of previous iterations of Street Fighter, from the classic arcade titles to the more recent installments.
Adam Boyes, VP of Publisher & Developer Relations at PlayStation, also announced on-stage that the PlayStation 4 would be the “only console this game ever appears on”. Although the game will also be available on PC, this proves to be ill-fated news for Xbox One owners.
Also showcased at the event was a gameplay trailer, which displays a fight between classic characters Ryu and Chun-Li. Although the game still boasts the classic artistic style that goes back to when the game was still found in arcades, the quality of the graphics and the seemingly destructible environments are sure to add a breath of fresh-air to the franchise.
There was no word on the release date for the game, or any other details.
