Just days after its first birthday, the hit comedic videogame The Stanley Parable has officially sold over a million copies according to a tweet from Davey Wreden, the game’s developer.
The milestone was acknowledged (in a familiar tone and style) by the voice actor who narrates the game, Kevan Brighting:
The Stanley Parable has sold over a million copies. The Narrator decided not to tell Stanley. It might make him fractious. Or big-headed.

If you haven’t had a chance to pick up The Stanley Parable yet, I strongly urge you yo do so. The quirky game is a subversive gem that constantly mocks you and your decisions while calling into question player agency at every opportunity - and you’ll love it for doing so. The Stanley Parable also references popular titles on a frequent basis, and makes you question how they handle certain mechanics that players have long taken for granted. The prevalent British humor doesn’t hurt, either.
If you still aren’t swayed why not take a look at Dale’s review? He gave The Stanley Parable 10/10, saying that “If you care about games in the slightest, you owe it to yourself to play this game. Or does the game play you? It’s hard to tell. Either way, it’s an experience that should not be passed up.”
