Blizzard has finally rolled out the rather substantial content update for the latest console versions of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, which originally went live for the PC version of the game in August.
Update 2.1 adds a bevy of new features. Classes have been significantly rebalanced, and Treasure Goblins now have a chance to spawn a portal to the Goblin Realm upon death, which contains a new boss and the chance of obtaining a motherlode of loot. In addition, it introduces a new tileset - the Cesspools - to the game. Blizzard originally planned to include the Cesspools as an entire area in the original Reaper of Souls expansion, but wasn’t able to fit it in due to time constraints.
The final major feature is Greater Rifts, randomly-generated infinite dungeons which become more difficult the longer you progress - but which reward the diligent with the chance of obtaining high-level loot and increasing your character’s power.

I reviewed the PC version of Reaper of Souls when it was released back in March. It’s pretty bloody awesome. Now that the long-awaited 2.1 patch has finally been released for current-gen consoles, you can expect a thorough review of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game sometime on Friday.
Blizzard has always stated that they plan to continually update Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition on consoles, in order to keep it in line with the PC version of the game. Sadly, players on Xbox 360 and PS3 are out of luck - Blizzard confirmed in August that it has no plans to support last-gen versions of the game post-launch. If you want to receive a regular fix of content, you’ll need to upgrade.
