Run Sackboy! Run Coming to PS Vita and Mobile

Tom O’Connor, Senior Producer of LittleBigPlanet at Sony XDev Europe, took to the official PlayStation blog to announce Run Sackboy! Run, a free-to-play platform-survival game for PlayStation Vita, iOS and Android.

In Run Sackboy! Run, the Negativitron - the final boss from LittleBigPlanet 2 - has returned to cause chaos and mayhem in Craftworld. Using simple tap and swipe gestures, players will make their way through three different and iconic worlds from the LittleBigPlanet series - The Gardens, The Canyons and Avalonia - evading danger for as long as possible. O’Connor writes “Anyone can enjoy the game, but as Sackboy charges along at top speed, you’re going to need super-quick reactions to keep him on course and out of trouble.”

Whilst speeding through the world, players must collect as many bubbles as they can in order to purchase special costumes and upgrades. Each new costume has a built-in score multiplier, which means that dressing up Sackboy not only lets you look great, but it lets you work your way up the scoreboards faster as well. Power-ups will also feature in the game, with items like jet packs, shields, magnets and a glider to help make your way through the levels. A mission ladder system means that there will be new objectives and challenges each time you play and a built-in social feature lets you challenge your friends and compare scores.

Stickers will also return as a collectible item, which are organised in an in-game sticker book for convenience. As more stickers are collected more rewards are unlocked, including exclusive costumes for LittleBigPlanet 3, which is set for release in November on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

Run Sackboy! Run is scheduled for release in October for PlayStation Vita, iOS and Android.
