Earlier this week at the Pre-Tokyo Gameshow press conference, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia announced that the fifth entry in the fan favorite Disgaea franchise will be coming to PlayStation 4 sometime next year.
According to Joystiq, D5’s plot will feature a young demon named Kiria who seeks revenge against the Demon Emperor Void Dark. We don’t know what he’s getting revenge for, but we do know that he’ll be joined by the Princess Seraphine and Usaria the Queen of Rabbit Rabbit World. No new features have been announced for the game, but the franchise is known for building off of the previous games advancements and one could expect the D2: A Brighter Darkness newly added Cheat Shop will make its return.
The franchise is known for its irreverent characters and surprisingly humorous dialogue that translates well during the localization process. However, there are currently no details about the inevitable European and American release of D5 but Nippon Ichi Software (NiS) has been very timely with releasing the English versions of the games shortly after the Japanese release.
Here is a look at the special IGN Japanese announcement trailer for D5 that looks oddly similar to the original teaser trailer for Persona 5.
