Digital distribution site gog.com now sells movies as well as games.
The films are mostly documentaries based around gaming and internet culture. Users are able to stream or download them in high-definition immediately following purchase, and as with everything else on the service they’re DRM-free and come with additional extras. Existing account holders have been given 2 free films - The Pirate Bay: Away from the Keyboard and The Art of Playing.
The selection so far includes titles such as Indie Game: The Movie - Special Edition, Once Upon Atari and Minecraft: The Story of Mojang - Deluxe Edition, among others.
In addition to the new service the site has seen some major redesign work, taking it from the slightly retro curvy design it had before to a much cleaner, sharper and sleeker look. Games are now displayed in local currencies (in applicable areas) and you are also given the option to change the currency should you so wish. They’ve even introduced a fair-price scheme - if the price is more expensive in your currency than it is in US dollars, then gog.com will personally refund you the difference to make sure you receive fair treatment (if only more download services did this).
