Warner Bros has announced that the reboot of Gauntlet has been moved to September 23, 2014, to allow for additional improvements to the game.
Arrowhead Game Studios reassured fans that Gauntlet will still arrive on Steam for Windows and SteamOS with full support. To thank those who pre-ordered Gauntlet an additional wizard’s robe, The Spawn of Kerthull, will be added as an in-game bonus item. In addition, the developer has released a new walkthrough video to demonstrate gameplay for the upcoming release.
This weekend at Pax Prime 2014, an early look at the game will be provided. Featuring Penny Arcade personalities like Jerry Holkins, Mike Krahulik and others, as participants in the competition. The tournament and participant gameplay will be streamed live on the official Pax Prime Twitch Channel.
Gauntlet is a modern reboot of the classic 4-player arcade game, which features traditional fantasy characters navigating top-down labyrinths and slaughtering endless hordes of monsters. Think of it as an early precursor to Diablo. Despite its age, it still holds up well today due to its frantic gameplay.
