Today, after announcing it last month, Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Memories on the iOS store for free. This newest iteration in the series deviates heavily from everything that came before, as rather than being a conventional action adventure game, Memories will have the player battling with cards in places such as highly requested Feudal Japan as well as the Mongolian Empire.
According to the App Store listing, Memories looks to be “a multi-faceted experience blending card battle, RPG, and strategy gameplay.” While the aforementioned eras are included for players to explore for the first time, old favorites such as the Third Crusade and the Golden Age of Piracy are also available. Players can visit the various eras and collect cards for battle while hunting down targets.
Additionally, Memories will not restrict the player to one assassin; rather, you’ll be able to play as a multitude of new and old characters. Memories also features multiplayer in which you can join a guild of assassins and take on other guilds in 20 vs. 20 strategic combat.
Furthermore, players will have the option to buy in-game currency to “accelerate gameplay.”
