The Escapists Coming to Steam Early Access

Indy publisher Team 17 has announced that prison-breakout-themed adventure game The Escapists, developed by Mouldy Toof Studios, will be coming to Steam’s Early Access program this Wednesday.

The Escapists is a top-down time-management game that sees players living the tightly restricted life of an incarcerated inmate. You’ll be able to perform sidequests to gain the favor of your fellow inmates, apply for job details, and craft weapons and supplies to defend yourself. Ultimately, as the name implies, you’ll put your ill-gotten goods and talents towards building an escape attempt, all the while keeping one eye out for guards who’ll shake-down your cell for contraband, and generally do their utmost to keep you in the slammer.

The Escapists will be out on Steam Early Access on the 20 of this month for $9.99, with a release on Xbox One scheduled for later next year. Check out the trailer below.
