Bizzard has announced plans to increase the cost of a World of Warcraft subscription for UK users, after the release of Warlords of Draenor on November 13.
The company detailed the price increase in a thread in the Battle.net forums. According the post, the cost of a monthly subscription is being raised from £8.99 to £9.99, the cost for three month subscription will increase to £28.17 from £25.17 and the six month subscription will cost £52.14 instead of the current £46.14. However, Blizzard has taken into account current recurring subscriptions in the UK, and these will be stay at the current rate for two more years as a “thank you” for their loyalty.
“We regularly look at our pricing around the world and from time to time we make changes in light of local and regional market conditions,” community spokesperson Taepsilum said. “As such, we want to give everyone a heads-up that we will shortly be adjusting the pound sterling subscription price of World of Warcraft.”
The changes will be exclusively localized to the UK and will not effect any other European countries.
