Gamescom 2014: Heroes of the Storm Moving to Beta

This week at Gamescom 2014, Blizzard unveiled a new trailer for Heroes of the Storm that will be moving into beta shortly after its lengthy alpha testing. Announced through the trailer are three new characters that will be joining the ever growing cast of Heroes.

First up is Anub’arak, the Traitor King of the Nerubian race of Northrend from world of Warcraft. Initially he resisted the Lich King’s invasion of his people, but after he was slain in battle he was resurrected into the ranks of the Scourge. Now he stands as a pillar of destruction, a symbol of his fallen people and the loss of their culture. Stealth and speed are his allies as he lurks underground to strike unsuspecting enemies.

The next hero is the Lord of Sin Azmodan, younger brother of Diablo and ruler of one of the seven planes of Hell from Diablo lore. He sits upon a throne of the greatest joys and darkest despair, where he rules over the vastest of the planes of Hell as he watches the most depraved acts imaginable. His desire is insatiable and his schemes started the events around the resurrection of the Prime Evil Diablo and the destruction of Sanctuary. His powerful magic and massive size will aid him in battle as he is pulled into the void against the other heroes.

Finally, there is the Legendary Brewmaster Chen Stormstout the wandering Pandarian from Warcraft. His wanderlust initially caused him to leave his homeland to roam the vast world of Azeroth. He eventually met up with Thrall and the New Horde as they searched for a land to call their own. His fighting skills are as legendary as his brewing skills are and he’ll carry his drink into battle against the other heroes.

These three characters have long been suspected to be joining the roster for Heroes of the Storm, and it is good to finally see them get their time to shine.

It’s good to see that Heroes of the Storm is finally moving into beta testing so more people can get their hands on Blizzards MOBA. Make sure to sign up for the beta and update your Battle.net account before you can be eligible for beta access.
