Five new screenshots for Batman: Arkham Knight’s gameplay have been released by Rocksteady, showcasing features of the Batmobile and Arkham Knight’s new environmental takedowns.
In these new images we see the Batmobile in its combat mode as seen in the E3 reveal trailer. From the images we see the Batmobile attacking simultaneously while Batman beats up thugs outside of his vehicle, hinting at an autopilot feature.
Because Rocksteady is retaking the reins on the Arkham franchise, this final installment in the Batman Arkham trilogy will feature more innovation from the developer. The game will address Easter eggs left in previous Arkham games, and innovate on the original hit-and-counter gameplay pioneered by Rocksteady’s Arkham Asylum. There will also be an improved gliding system to accommodate for the much larger Gotham that exceeds the constraints set by Arkham City. The game is introducing a brand new villain exclusive to the series known as the Arkham Knight working with Scarecrow, who has plans for both Gotham and Batman.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC early 2015. This will be the final Arkham game in the trilogy made by Rocksteady, and will be exclusive to next gen consoles so that the developer can make the ultimate Batman game without being held back by graphical constraints.
